this is starting to get rather annoying now *sigh*
i've finally managed to set up a PDF printer with cups though it fails to print a postscript file for me from OOo
i'm using the printer: Generic Printer which uses the command `lpr -p PDF' (and the pdf printer is obviously called PDF in cups)
is it `wrong' to click on the `print to file' in the printer setup in OOo?

strangely enough i get a ps file when chosing the `print to file' option but when converting it to a pdf with `ps2pdf' and then trying to open it with xpdf (or acroread) i get this error

Code:

raven@death ~/pdfwrite $ xpdf Lebenslauf.ps
xpdf: error while loading shared libraries: libt1.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
raven@death ~/pdfwrite $

with acroread i simply get the error that there is no %PDF at the beginning of the file, which does let me ponder how `good' that `print to file' actually worked *sigh*

some tips would be appreciated!

perhaps this could be included to the Gentoo Printing guide?

regards,

right, i should have read /var/share/doc/cups-pdf-1.0/README.gentoo.gz more thoroughly...
is there any way i can change the default directory from /var/spool/cups-pdf/$user/ to some dir in my $HOME for instance?

the error still occurs with xpdf (any hints for that perhaps?) but acroread opens it just fine (strange....)
