worked nice also for me on my new funtoo notebook, tnx! :D

simply have to add again additional repos after on paludis, because it looks like portage2paludis don't populate local.
but not a big hassle, though :)

0.6 is kind of a dud, here are some things different in 0.7:
- Not broken
- Stable/Unstable in 1 script
- Check for git, install it
- Die function
- Root check
- Sanity check
- PFG git repository/overlay
- Paludis from git (from PFG overlay)
- New directories for things and locations, etc
- Fixed permissions
- No more profile hacking (step 6 no longer used)
- Broken assumption of profile automatically, now keep existing profile being used with a couple of bash commands and readlink (not sure how i did this and no one noticed?)
- Cache moved to /var/cache/paludis/names,metadata
- Playman updated in paludis-9999.git ebuild to reflect this change (you don't need to mkdir like if names cache it was in the repo itself)
- Less redundancy, things aren't asked when they don't need to be, things are checked for and not re-installed no matter what
- Prettier + no more trailing whitespace in the code
- Diff from 0.6 is longer than the script itself
- Tested numerous times already

This is the last one before 1.0 i think, maybe it will even be 1.0. Either way, it's the last testing one i have planned.

The last step installing eselect-config also pulled in portage and reinstalls it for me :roll:

Code:
* Installing eselect-config
Building target list...
Building dependency list...

These packages will be installed:

* sys-apps/portage::gentoo (previously ::unpackaged) [N 2.2_rc23]
    -build -doc -epydoc (-selinux) LINGUAS: -pl build_options: -optional_tests split strip
    "Portage is the package management and distribution system for Gentoo"
    737.37 kBytes to download
* app-admin/eselect-config::zen-overlay [R 20060801] <target>
    build_options: -optional_tests split strip

Total: 2 packages (1 new, 1 rebuild), 737.37 kBytes to download

I had to remove portage from the keywords and unmask files, then it proceeded as it should.

I just want to ask. It is possible to write a script to strip sys-apps/portage dependencies from ebuilds on rsync completion? I think it'll be a nice company to your script :), because now portage is still hard-coded to some of "core" packages and they still want to pull portage back :).

in my case, after executing pfg 0.6, I had no core packages that need portage anymore.

Well, it seems like it can't be so. Try to pretend install baselayout and you see that portage is still needed. It is in DEPEND section of ebuild. Please and report to Bugzilla (see my signature) :)
