I am fairly new to Linux, but I am comfortable and at least above your run of the mill ex Mac user.

I recently compiled Gentoo 2.6.27 PPC on my iBook G4 1.33mHz computer. 1.25 Gb of ram, 40Gb HD, etc.

After compiling the kernel, configuring yaboot, emerging system tools and whatnot, I rebooted my computer per the Gentoo handbook. However, after reboot (and not entering livecd mode) I realized that I had left out one very important step: I did not download a DHCP client. Now I can't access the internet to emerge any other packages (GUIs, the fw for my wireless card, etc). Is there a way to download this DHCP client (since I have access to the net while in livecd mode)?

Please oh please don't tell me I have to start over...

Hi, you need to chroot your box with your Gentoo install CD and after that you will be able to install the package and after that, reboot your box:P
