It's a known bug, wait for the next RC.

Will firefox 3.5 really have native qt support?

No it wont.

Also you can't build it with the qt-experimental flag because the qtfirefox code is borken and has not been touched for nearly a year.
I wonder why they even have added that useflag.

According to http://www.phoronix.com/forums/showpost.php?p=56709&postcount=5 it has been merged upstream... Also one of the lastest commits reads "Merged with mozilla-upstream": http://hg.mozilla.org/users/vladimir_mozilla.com/mozilla-qt/shortlog

Am I getting something wrong here? Because there has indeed been no more talk on the qt interface since the initial excitement last summer...

The excitement is over, but it's still being worked on. It's just not going to be a high priority as it works with GTK+ well enough. Soon, I'm hoping that the QT port will be production ready but that's at least a year away.
