 tux ~ # wgetpaste ~/myconfig
Apparently nothing was received. Perhaps the connection failed. Enable --verbose or
--debug to get the output from wget that can help diagnose it correctly.
tux ~ # wgetpaste ~/packagelist

so it does not upload a larger file (a copy of my .config) but it does upload a smaller file. is there an upload limit to wgetpaste? is this error related to something else?

Its not wgetpaste, its the pastebin that it points to will no longer accept most .config files.

so if i rename the file to 'ilikesandwhiches' will it allow me to update a config file?

Nope, the file size limit on the pasebin has been reduced.
You need to split the file in two and post both parts
