On every emerge I get:
Quote:
Calculating dependencies / * Please fix your package (media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit-1.9999) to not use unipatch-001.eclass
... done!

earlier in the post I see a similar question with the answer:
Quote:
Yamakuzure wrote:
Can those ebuilds be fixed?

freqtweak fixed.

and when I search for freqtweak on my system:
Quote:
papapenguin ~ # emerge --search freqtweak
Searching... | * Please fix your package (media-sound/freqtweak-0.7.0_pre20070214-r1) to not use unipatch-001.eclass

[ Results for search key : freqtweak ]
[ Applications found : 1 ]

* media-sound/freqtweak
Latest version available: 0.7.0_pre20070214-r1
Latest version installed: [ Not Installed ]
Size of files: 429 kB
Homepage: http://freqtweak.sourceforge.net
Description: FFT-based realtime audio spectral manipulation and display
License: GPL-2

...so the inevitable question is how do I 'not use unipatch-001.eclass'?

First, just try emerging it. If it doesn't work, and the portage output points to unipatch-001.eclass, you can edit (path_to_layman)/proaudio/media-sound/jack-audio-connection-kit/jack-audio-connection-kit-1.9999 and comment out any lines (there should be only one, though) pointing to unipatch-001.eclass.

[ Results for search key : freqtweak ]
[ Applications found : 1 ]

*  media-sound/freqtweak
      Latest version available: 9999

What exactly was your problem with jack again?

Nobody looks at that tracker... I already posted some fixes to the ardour live ebuild in the past and it's still bugged.

When I next turn on my Linux audio machine, I'll look into this and see if I can create one, and ask for a bump if I do.

Actually no source tarball has been released for hydrogen-0.9.6. But there is for hydrogen-0.9.5_rc1. If you really need the version 0.9.6, you should use the hydrogen-9999.ebuild in the overlay. Anyway I created an ebuild for hydrogen-0.9.5_rc1 which has been referenced from the one in portage. If you really need it, I can add it to the overlay.

Ardour 2.9999 as of 22 June continuously opens an online help file. If browser is left open and focus returned to Ardour, Ardour opens another window/tab on the same help file.

This does not seem to be specific to CVS, as I see when installing the latest source from ardour.org. The problem seems to stop when I open the prefs dialog. Still very annoying, though.

Hello,

With museseq-1.9999 the "dssi" flag is not taken in account at the configure stage and you end up with a version of MusE without the DSSI support.

I think that osc is required too so that DSSI gui functions well (but i am unsure). OSC isn't configured by default at the configure stage neither, i don't know if there is a flag for it, btw.

Anyway, I tried:
#USE="dssi osc" emerge =museseq-1.9999

And the script sayed:

configure:

MusE configured

LASH support: no
OSC support: no
DSSI support: no
FluidSynth: yes

Hi, please post in English, so more people can understand :)

The following response based on google translate:

You can install gentoo anyway you like. After your install is complete, it's as easy as installing the layman package, and using it to add the pro-audio overlay:
Code:
layman -a pro-audio
and you are ready to install the programs you want :)

hello All,

i'm frenchy newbee in gentoo world (not linux) and want a good workstation for photos/video editing and music playing (ardour - guitarix - sooperlooper ...)

so after reflection about specific audio distribution as good there are sidux , 64 studio , av linux ... all don't have all in one softwares i want to use or hardware problem... i discoverd audiopro from gentoo people and see that there are up to date software as i want and good working on RT kernel too. So i finally decide to read the handbook and in next days when i received my athlon II X3 435 i will install gentoo from scratch with minimal cd to provide a futur workstation with Fluxbox , RT kernel and audio pro to principally user :
-cinelerra
-rawtherapee
-ardour2
-guitarix
-rackarack
-wired and qtracktor
-sooperlooper

.... and more but principaly that ...

it's not huge but i want a simple clean powerfull system : so i'm sure your are ok to tell me : GENTOO POWERED. :D
i'll agree to answer you : yes

1/ so is there a good guide to install a gentoo basic system with good configuration for multimedia station ,
how make partition ; size of partition ; FS to use ??
software necessary to provide a good RT kerne ...
etc ..

2/ is there a specific forum for proaudio installation .. with tips for use and ccflag ??

3/ is there a list of all proaudio software or use the protage to see it ?

thanks for all your souldest
tuxi

You can find guides for installing gentoo here. The handbook is an excellent guide if this is your first time installing gentoo, covering everything from partitioning to cflags.

There is no official forum as far as I know, but this thread is probably a good place for questions, as well as the mailing list. An offical wiki page for the overlay exists here which includes a full package list among other things.

Good luck :)

About filesystem, what is the best for studio recording and Raw photo editing, XFS or ext3 ? because i see that xfs more stable and speed for big files treatement.

I don't have any experience with xfs, but I use ext3 and that works without any problems.

6 months later and it's STILL only the 0.7.x series available in the proaudio overlay. Please, update this to the 0.8.x series, 0.8.x is the latest stable release for idjc. I downloaded it and it compiles fine on my system. The 0.8.x series has MANY updates too the GUI and the overall program is more stable than in previous releases. 0.8.x series really needs to be added too the IDJC proaudio overlay.
