I'm trying to bootstrap an i486 cross-compiler using crossdev, but I've hit a problem with glibc: during the configure phase, the version number of /usr/libexec/gcc/i486-unknown-linux-gnu/ld appears as ?.??, and configure dies stating ld is missing or too old. The actual logs are probably a lot more useful, so here they are:

cross-i486-unknown-linux-gnu-glibc.log
cross-i486-unknown-linux-gnu-info.log
emerge --info

So, err, any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the late reply; I've been rather busy. I'm going to try the stable version now, and if that fails, I'll try the stable version with --without-headers. I'll update this when I have news.

The stable version compiled after some package cleaning. Cheers!
