just curious - what is drm-next/2.6.32 doing in zen-stable? isn't that material for normal zen sources?

drm-next is a fad for dodo and other guys - not sure why, features maybe? (and it's pulled in the nouveau git tree) - the kms code in general is still experimental, but since linus merged drm-next it's something that shouldnt break existing code, but obviously does, linus merged it somewhere around 2.6.32-rc3 so the problem exists upstream as well now (not on stable)

Anyway, I don't use drm so I don't know why i try to mess with it, typically dodo is the one that pulls it.

aarrgh - of course that breaks my own i915 patch collection that applied on top of zen and made my chip speak to the external displayport with the correct resolution (from the beginning)...

Time to move on to zen.git, or could I myself pull in drm-next? Because i915 benefits _a_lot_ with each commit into the future.

drm-next can be pulled on top, maybe it will conflict on a few files due to changes in 2.6.31.2 (or you could use zen.git)

Yet another very impressive PTS test result which shows
how much CFS has improved in Linux-2.6-31-zen4-CFS

In zen 2.6.32-rc4-zen1 Reiser4 does not show up as a filesystem option. Has it been permantely removed from the unstable git?

Also stop calling kernel releases with names like, "boner fide" and using swears in the menu options.

++

reiser4 from mmotm is broken it got disabled and needs review from Edward:

http://kerneltrap.org/mailarchive/reiserfs-devel/2009/10/14/6494833

you can revert reiser4 and apply the reiser4-for-2.6.31.patch

good luck !

As someone who believes that religion should be respected, i find
this demand offensive. I think a 'suggestion' would have been more
appropriate. As tranquilcool mentions 'it's all about freedom Mr. charlie'.
You have the freedom NOT to use these kernels and/or modify them
to your hearts desire.

Imagine someone demanding our friend pappy_mcfae change his sig.
That would not be appropriate or acceptable in a free society.
Blessed be Pappy

Guys, please close this thread, continue discussion here:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-797306.html

And i'm not offended by the request, charlie.

I don't make the kernel names and they are spontaneous, usually humorous things.
