I have a ATI x1600 (r500), and I have a problem trying to get Compiz working. I have posted on their forum, and I am starting to think it may be something I have incorrectly configured. I am using the Mesa drivers, and apparently AIGLX/direct rendering are working correctly. When I run fusion-icon or compiz --replace ccp, I get no window decorations and Compiz reports that the ccp plugin is missing. I am using the ~x86 0.84 compiz from Portage (no overlays). I have tried re-emerging Mesa, Glitz, gtk+, compiz and its related packages. Should I try deleting all the Compiz basic settings and unmerging those packages? If so, where are those settings stored? Any other advice?

Thanks!

I wasn't able to get 0.8.4 to work (it kept crashing as soon as i tried to use desktop-cube) so i decided to stick with 0.8.2 for the time being. 0.8.2 works perfectly in my case. If you don't want to downgrade it might help if you erase all compiz-settings and reconfigure it from scratch
