Is my hard drive broken or can I work around this? Could it just be a bad partitioning? 8O

it says "hdc : media error" which i suppose is your optical drive ? Does the livecd work on other boxes or can you test with another optical drive ?
to me this looks like the livecd is broken but i´m not an expert of course.

cheers

So this is what I did:
- I erased the computer (with a MacOS 10.1 disc) because mac-fdisk was confusing me
- I then went back to extracting the stage3 tar.bz2 file. Last time I picked "stage3-ppc64-64ul.2008.0" but now I just chose the "stage3-ppc-2009.0" and it worked fine.

Thanks for your help! I did verify the CD and it appeared to be ok.
