Hi,
Since the last update of firefox (firefox-bin; I have both) the firefox don't close correctly.
I don't know to describe in a tech terms.
Well, when I close firefox , the CPU usage grows to 50% and if I want to reopen firefox I get a message who tell me to close the first session of firefox in order to open a new one.
So I need to kill the firefox from command line or System Monitor.
Anybody have a clue? Thanks!

well, I have remembered that I enabled the QT4 stiles in GTK applications.
I switched to Raleigh stile and now the things are well.

Great post and solution (perhaps you should mark it solved). I was having problems with Mozilla-Firefox remaining open and using as much as 98% cpu after closing. I was constantly having to kill it manually until I read this thread. But with the switch to the Raleigh style I was good to go with no further issues. Thanks again.

Ciao

If anyone else happens to read this thread, another alternative is to install gtk-engines-qtcurve along with qtcurve-qt4. This will generate an alternative theme named "QtCurve" which can be selected under "Styles" in the "Appearance" applet in "System Settings". If you select this theme and then select "QtCurve" in "GTK Styles and Fonts" instead of "Raleigh" you will have the same benefit/ solution as above, but with the added bonus of having your KDE and GTK apps appearing nearly the same.

I hope this helps,
Ciao
