I think Edward will declare it as invalid (like before) since it's related to zen

I think edward is invalid, because zen uses reiser4 directly from upstream so the bugs will occur in both places (zen.git could be screwed up, but I do it upstream in zen-stable)

thanks for the clarification cheater !

I don't hope that I wrong Edward - since this comes directly from my memory :P

anyways - strange that it still has these problems ... :?

Dunno why he would call it invalid?
Only time when he said anything like that was about those bad patches from -mm.

Your call KoT

PS. Here it is http://marc.info/?l=reiserfs-devel&m=126321224312842&w=2

Quote:
2.6.32 has a new per-bdi flushing interface and related VFS changes,
which are incompatible with reiser4. Zen stuff works incorrectly, as
actually we need to fix VFS at first. I am working on this at leisure-time,
so wait..

Thanks,
Edward.

do the same test without chown -R portage:portage

other test:

compile 2 kernels & tar bzip2 the directories

then delete the directories & time sync

afterwards extract the kernels-tarballs (with binary-stuff included) and time sync

that'll take pretty long !

Tried it on a R4+cc partition with hitchhiker sources 2.6.30-r2.
tar -jxvf k.tar.bz2 -C /1

time sync

real 0m3.734s
user 0m0.000s
sys 0m2.636s

ls -R /1 | wc -l
73994

Gonna have to try with plain R4

I don't think this is really a bug, are you trying to unmount cifs in conditions (like it's in use) that it doesnt want to?
Also, for the future compile with frame pointers and the trace would be useful - EVERYBODY SHOULD COMPILE WITH FRAME POINTERS
