The machine hibernate but when waking up throws an
error an freezes (sometimes after getting to the
kde desktop sometimes just a black screen); the error is something like:

Code:
INIT: PANIC: segmentation violation

there's what looks like a memory address after the "violation"

this is a thinkpad x300 with intel graphics and KMS enabled

all the zen schedulers enabled too

any advice welcome, TIA

This is the absolute worst way to report a problem with the zen kernel.

We do have our own website, bug tracker, mailing list, irc channel, and even our own support forum here on the gentoo forums. Couldn't you pick atleast one of these options? Creating a thread on gentoo forums is a terrible route to go, almost none of us would see it (i got lucky to see it) - whereas if you posted it on the bug tracker, mailing list, or irc channel every one of the devs would have received an email informing us of the problem (or been available for live help), and if on the mailing list the tuxonice developer would have even got an email about it.

I'll answer the problem if you do one of these, because conversation doesnt belong here.
