Code:
$ eclipse-3.5
will bring it up. There is also an ebuild available for eclipse-3.5.1 that worked for me. If on kde, you can add it to your menu with kmenuedit.

Right-click on the Applications menu and choose "Edit Menus."

FYI, eclipse-sdk-3.5.1 is now in portage, no need to download it manually.

@genstorm, I had some connectivity issues here so i downloaded from another computer as it was taking time for me to get my ISP issues sorted. So i downloaded manually.

@timebandit, thanks for that.

Anybody installed the visual editor and/or other plugins? I'm not able to install any plugin since I get the following error:

fbcyborg,
I am having the same issue as you. 503 errors on trying to do a Galileo (3.5) update via software manager. I have eclipse 3.4 installed and that would update ok to it's Ganymede directory. I have no resolution either.

Continuing my ( and fbcyborg's) issue in https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-6100671.html#6100671 so we do not hijack this thread

edit: un-hijacked this thread
