Has anyone here tried this cruncher? I've just stumbled over it and am playing with the source to see if I can ebuildify it. (Never made an ebuild from scratch before! :D)

It boasts a lot of too-good-to-be-true sounding stuff and seems to have popped up out of nowhere (I didn't see it when I was looking for an archiver for my 80GB+ disk images; Ended up using diffing and 7zip'ing them!).

I'm hoping it does what it says on the tin as 1GB dictionaries without needing 10+GB of RAM and ECC (Which 7z still hasn't got!) would be killer features for me, but there seems to be very little 3rd-party data on it :S

Edit: ARRGH!! IT'S WRITTEN IN HASKELL!! *runs screaming as his brain leaks out of his nose*
(We were introduced to Haskell at uni... it's awesome but my brain has never recovered XD)

Did you create an ebuild for it? Please share if you did! It seems like an amazing compressor.

Alas no; It's written in Haskell and doesn't use configure scripts and I don't know my way around the ebuild system well enough to write one from scratch!

The other problem is I'm not sure what dependencies it needs; It only mentions a haskell compiler and various gtk+/qt toolkits, but I know the binary at least needs curl too!

To be honest I haven't been spending that much time on it, as I found it uses a pre-processor for massive files, and I've been testing that with 7zip :P
