|I just updated to konqueror 4.3.98 (from the kde overlay; I don't remember my reasoning) from 4.3.5. I'm on x86. I use e17, but there are some KDE apps that I really like - kopete for instant messaging (when my jabber server is on the fritz), konqueror for web browsing (mostly due to kget integration with konqueror), koffice for a slightly lighter alternative to openoffice.
Anyway, now that konqueror is updated, I'm missing all of the web shortcuts settings. I mean, the tab-type-thing (off to the left) that says "Web Shortcuts" is there, but when I click on it, the main frame of the settings dialog goes empty, as if there aren't any settings for Web Shortcuts.
I could deal with that (because, while I use web shortcuts all the time, they're not absolutely essential), but it also seems to be causing konqueror to go back to the old, "Protocol not supported" when I enter google.com in the address bar. I have to enter the entire URL, beginning with http:// - and that's something that I can't get used to.
Version and USE flags installed:
|4.3.98(4.4)!t(15:05:36 02/02/10)(bookmarks handbook svg -aqua -debug -kdeenablefinal -kdeprefix -thumbnail) |
I've tried deleting the entire .kde4 directory in my home folder - didn't help. I'm starting to think it's just a bug in 4.3.98. Anyone else have the same issue?
Just synced the kde overlay and noticed that 4.4.0 is in. Granted, the bz2 packages aren't up on any of the servers I'm using, so I can't install it just yet ... but hopefully they'll be up soon.
