The documentation on their website seems wrong. Look at this bug report:
http://zen-kernel.org/issues/26/view

//edit: or they changed the url without updating the documentation...

sure,

this was the purpose of this demonstration ;)

I read in several sources (among them the reiserfs mailing list & reiser4 w. compression) that df gives pretty inaccurate results - so du -hs
is your friend

Noticed that my conclusion about the difference of df and du was wrong.. du imperatively has to output something different as I use the btrfs compression, so the size of all files on the partition is more than actually used by them.
Just backed up my data, reformatted the btrfs partitions and my lost available space is back.. so there was some kind of filesystem problem (about 20 Gb, this can't be some kind of compression difference. About 5 Gb may be caused by compress <-> compress-force).

Hello,

Im using kernel 2.6.32-r7 zen and when I boot I get this message :

ata 1 : sata link down (SStatus 0, Scontrol 310)
ata 3: sata link down (SStatus 0, Scontrol 310)
ata 2: sata link down (SStatus 0, Scontrol 310)
ata 4 : sata link down (SStatus 0, Scontrol 310)
VFS : Cannot open troot device "813" or unknown block (8,19)

I enabled my controller sata_sil and put reiserfs in the kernel.

hi Zen Team,
in 2.6.33-zen1 bootsplash support is missing - are you going to bring it back in 2.6.33-zen2 release?

Regards,
fanthom

I had some problems with USB in the current HEAD in zen-stable. (zen-sources 2.6.33.2)

The only problem I can see is that booting up takes like 3 minutes, but after that all my Usb stuff seemed to work.
Reverting to zen-sources 2.6.33.1 fixes it for me.

Here is the error from /var/log/messages:
Code:

The first line isn't an error, but it's to show the startup time before it started having errors.

There are a couple more blocks of these errors, and the startup time gets up to about 180 seconds.

Current zen.git messes up my external display resolution (most likely related to some EDID changes)...

As 2.6.34_rc4 was released yesterday it should provide a much more solid base already ;)

Never mind, seems the current upstream drm is broken still when it comes to external EDID data, at least for Intel.

I don't know if that is the known problem with 2.6.34-rc3 and VM but it at least should include some fixes - perhaps that helps

thanks !

i had that with my nvidia (gf 7300gt) but it seems that upgrading x11-base/xorg-drivers to the live(9999) version fix the problem for me
here is the error [click]

i'm not sure if this fixed the problem, but didn't upgrade anything since then and i don't get that error any more

Yes, it is in git. I prefer to use git directly, which makes updating easier. And I don't have to wait for a snapshot or a tarball.
Also thanks for providing zen kernel. I am so happy with my gentoo enhanced with zen.
