I have this issue that's really annoying...

This is the structure of the network I have to access:

Internet --> gate computer --> other computer

So to do anything on the other computer, I have first to copy the data from the internet to the gate with scp. Then I log into gate. From gate, copy all data into the other computer. Then log into the other computer from within gate and finally run the jobs there (scientific calculations).

To copy back the results, same thing: copy all to gate, and from gate copy to the Internet.

I've to do this almost everyday and it's a lot of data and commands to run. It's really annoying!

I need something that would allow me to skip the gate computer and run scp/ssh directly into the other computer from the internet. A sort of tunnel thing.

I've already set up a RSA key mechanism following this tutorial: http://news.softpedia.com/news/How-to-Use-RSA-Key-for-SSH-Authentication-38599.shtml, so I can log around the machines without having to type each one's password. This would allow me to write bash scripts that would automatize my work.

Is there a way to skip the gateway? How can I do it?

Thanks a lot!

You probably want to do something like [1].
