I recently installed co-Linux("Cooperative Linux") if you don't know what it is, please visit there page http://www.colinux.org/

To get to the point;
it came with an installation program pretty easy and simple, for the distribution I selected "Gentoo Linux Deluxe", there was a file within the co-Linux program file, so I extracted the Gentoo file to the c:\ it said I had too. I ran the application in there "Gentoo.bat" everything started fine, it went into the co-Linux console.

After starting up half-way it stated an error (this isn't exact): [FATAL!]: Cannot find '/system.map

then it boots up. I have no idea if that's the reason it has no GUI, or if this particular version comes with no GUI any help at all well be thanked.

You probably should be asking at co-Linux's mailing list as this isn't a Gentoo error.

A regular gentoo install would not boot if System.map was missing.

Really? I haven't had System.map in /boot or '/' for ages!

He is not seeing a boot failure.

OP: you won't get a GUI in colinux. You will need to start a VNC server if you want graphical interface. Again, I haven't tried colinux in a while, so I don't know if they have the framebuffer implemented now but you System.map issue has nothing to do with it.

Two answer both of your questions, when it shows "Gentoo - http://gentoo.org/ - and the date created (I don't remember) and the date that particular one was made was 2007. (So yes it's old).

It seems to boot fine (It's not an install btw).
of course as I said no GUI, and I have Xming if that counts?

Also, I tried to find a coLinux forum, and couldn't find answers on their, wiki, and mailing lists.
