Hello,

I work now with Gnome 2.30. I unmerged hal and consolekit and policikit
When I put a cd in the player dmesg looks like this :

So it looks like udev finds it /
But I see no icons for the cd or hard disk on my screen.

What went wrong here ?

What are the useflags on gnome-disk-utility and gvfs ?

Sorry, I missed a detail in your first post:
hal is one thing, policykit (well, now as sys-auth/polkit)/consolekit is a completely different matter.

I emerged consolekit and automounts works.
Only problem I have is that ntfs is not regonized.
