hi all,

i own a VC-840 digital multimeter from Voltcraft. It has an optical interface which connects to a serial-to-usb-converter and finally to my notebook.
there is an old (and very simple) commandline-tool available here which works fine so far.

There is also a Qt-application available: QtDMM.
However, i can't get it to compile with Qt4 and the project itself seems dead.

Does anybody out there have or knows about an alternative?
Is there any chance to get it to compile with Qt4? I already tried the tool "qt3to4" which comes with Qt, but it too gave me some errors and i'm not able to solve these myself.

If there is someone willing (and able :D ) to help me with this, i would really appreciate.

Thanks in advance,

daniel

From the website:
It is quite limited as it only displays one datasource at a time, but allows to zoom and scroll around. It also has a status-monitor mode, where it automatic updates every 10 seconds

However, the data received from the multimeter should be visible in realtime (doesn't make sense otherwise).

Thank you anyway.

You can try installing Qt3, from the kde-sunset overlay I think.
