Code:
 layman -l

Code:
cat /etc/make.conf

and
Code:
emerge -pv dev-games/ogre

also, this website (http://gpo.zugaina.org/dev-games/ogre) shows ogre 3d 1.7.1 in "gamerlay" overlay

It works from "gamerlay" overlay:
Code:
$ eix -I ogre
[I] dev-games/ogre
     Available versions:  1.6.5!t (~)1.7.1!t[1] {+boost +boost-threads cegui cg devil doc double-precision examples +freeimage gtk +ois poco-threads tbb-threads test threads tools +zip}
     Installed versions:  1.7.1!t[1](13:55:45 09.02.2011)(boost boost-threads cg doc examples freeimage ois tools zip -double-precision -poco-threads -tbb-threads -test)
     Homepage:            http://www.ogre3d.org/
     Description:         Object-oriented Graphics Rendering Engine

[1] "gamerlay-stable" /var/lib/layman/gamerlay
P.S : I can't find "ogre" on http://gentoo.zugaina.org/ , so it seems to be the wrong overlay?

Moved from Portage & Programming to Unsupported Software as overlay ebuilds are not officially supported.

It looks like a my portage tree doesn't know about gamerlay overlay at all:

Code:
bartek@bartek-gentoo ~ $ sudo emerge -pv ogre
These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R   ] dev-games/ogre-1.6.5  USE="cegui devil doc examples gtk threads -cg -double-precision" 40,806 kB

Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 40,806 kB

First: dev-games/ogre-1.7.1 is keyworded, so you have to put a corresponding entry into /etc/portage/package.keywords. If you have such an entry, then please check if you have done like stated by the layman ebuild:
layman emerge process wrote:
* You are now ready to add overlays into your system.
*
* layman -L
*
* will display a list of available overlays.
*
* Select an overlay and add it using
*
* layman -a overlay-name
*
* If this is the very first overlay you add with layman,
* you need to append the following statement to your
* /etc/make.conf file:
*
* source /var/lib/layman/make.conf
*
* If you modify the 'storage' parameter in the layman
* configuration file (/etc/layman/layman.cfg) you will
* need to adapt the path given above to the new storage
* directory.
*
* Please add the 'source' statement to make.conf only AFTER
* you added your first overlay. Otherwise portage will fail.

Question regarding use flag settings for Ogre regarding threading. Which is the recommended threads provider for Ogre on gentoo amd64? the options are boost-threads, poco-threads, and tbb-threads. Thanks.
