I have 2 computers, a desktop and a laptop, with vastly different hardware. On both of them the new pf-sources-2.6.38_p2 hang up the system hard (can't even reboot with alt+sysrq+b) when resuming from hibernation. I'm using TuxOnIce. This does not happen in _p1.

Did anybody else experience it?

My laptop needed the battery pulled out after the 2 shutdowns (full shutdowns, not any sort of hibernation) I did with pf 2.6.38_p1 8O

I can remember my laptop needing this about once every blue moon. It might have only ever happened once before.

Will tell you about _p2 tomorrow, after I've, erm, shut down.

_p2 has the same problem for me, although I've found that just disconnecting the power supply and letting it boot up on battery is OK. Presumably the kernel is triggering a BIOS bug 8O

Back to 2.6.37-pf6 I go.

CK recommends going back to -ck1, which would be -pf1 I suppose.

Fix for me is hopefully acer-wmi patches.

Edit: Intially I thought pcie_ports=compat helped, but the problem is intermittent.

Latest pf-sources seem to have the same problem. Disabling BFS made hibernation work for me again
