Hi All:

Downloaded the "for custom install" version, tried to run it and got this:

jserink@jserinkturion ~/Bricscad $ ./bricscad.sh
Segmentation fault
jserink@jserinkturion ~/Bricscad $ uname -a
Linux jserinkturion 2.6.37-gentoo-r4 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Apr 14 21:54:32 SGT 2011 x86_64 AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
jserink@jserinkturion ~/Bricscad $ ./bricscad.sh
Segmentation fault
jserink@jserinkturion ~/Bricscad $ cat bricscad.sh
#!/bin/sh
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=`pwd`
exec ./bricscad "$@"
jserink@jserinkturion ~/Bricscad $ ./bricscad --help
./bricscad: error while loading shared libraries: libutils.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
jserink@jserinkturion ~/Bricscad $ locate libutils.so

Do what is this linutils.so it can't find?

Any ideas what its called in portage? I found a link: http://www.nongnu.org/nsl/libutils/libutils.html
But I don't think that is what I'm after.

ideas?

John

libutils.so is part of the bricscad pkg.

at least it is included in the binary version I had downloaded and tried.

but try this: http://www.portagefilelist.de/index.php/Special:PFLQuery2?file=libutils.so&searchfile=lookup&lookup=file#result

Yah, the library is there.
it segfaults when I start it....
The main window comes up for a second and then segfaults, no other errors.

I'm running on AMD64 with a multi-lib system.

Cheers,
john

Hi All:

Ran it with gdb, the results:

Now, what happened was the dialog comes up and says, you have 26 days left, prsee coninue, I click the continue button and the bricscad window opens maximized but the into "white" color dialog with the logo in it gets stuck and never goes away. I'm able to resize the bricscad window boarder to its normal size that fits around the bricscad window that is open but that's it, nothing more, its frozen. i exit the debuger and its gone.
It appears it doesn't like the 32 bit r300_dri module.
Do you more expierned people come to the same conclusion?

Any ideas for a work around?

Cheers,
John
