I have a Dell Vostro 3700 which uses the ever so tiring Optimus "switching" technology.

Some folks here recommended I use bumblebee to utilize my Nvidia GFX... I was unable to modify my /var/lib/layman/cache_*.xml file to allow the bumblebee overlay to be added with layman, so I cloned the "gentoo" bumblebee repo (which just included an ebuild) then put the ebuild included (bumblebee-0.0.2) into a local portage tree to emerge.

It emerged all the deps with no problems but failed when trying to install the bumblebee package, it fails because it cannot find a certain file, upon closer inspection the file could not be found manually in the work directories. here is a pastebin of the emerge log, any ideas?

The ebuild tried to install a file that was not created by the upstream build process. Assuming that the upstream build completed successfully, this is a bug in the ebuild. The relevant file might be built only in some configurations, in which case doexe should only be run for those configurations. It could also be that upstream has ceased to generate that file, and the ebuild needs to be updated to cease trying to install it.
