Hey all.
How i can change the mirror for layman?
It's really slow for me.. so i just want to check any other..

Code:
localhost ~ # layman -S
* Running... # ( cd /var/lib/layman/x11  && /usr/bin/git pull )
git.overlays.gentoo.org[0: 66.219.59.40]: errno=Connection timed out
fatal: unable to connect a socket (Connection timed out)

localhost ~ # layman -a mozilla
* Running... # /usr/bin/git clone git://git.overlays.gentoo.org/proj/mozilla.git /var/lib/layman/mozilla
Cloning into /var/lib/layman/mozilla...
git.overlays.gentoo.org[0: 66.219.59.40]: errno=Connection timed out
fatal: unable to connect a socket (Connection timed out)
* Failed to add overlay "mozilla".
* Error was: Adding overlay "mozilla" failed!

Layman will automatically cycle through any listed urls for the overlays until one succeeds or it runs out of urls. In the case of the x11 overlay it lists 3, git, http, git+ssh. It will try them in the order listed. But for you they are all from the same server.
if there is another mirror, then it only needs to be added to the list. Your best bet is to contact the overlay maintainer and ask if there is an alternate server you can get it from.

P.S. I live relatively close to the servers and I too occasionally get those errors. Fortunately for me they usually succeed the next time I try.

That type of problem I do not know enough about. From what I can see it does not look like a layman problem, but maybe a network/firewall/proxy one.
Do you have/need proxy settings?

I did a little more digging. It very much looks like a firewall problem in that port 9148 is being blocked. It could be by your company or even your ISP.

For some overlays there is an http:... uri that should work. Unfortunately, not all overlays have that as an option. The mozilla overlay is one, but could have since all overlays on git.overlays.gentoo.org are http: protocol capable.
Try running this command yourself.
Code:
/usr/bin/git clone http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitroot/proj/mozilla.git /var/lib/layman/mozilla

if that works, then file a bug to have the http: url added to the overlays list. Then update the url in the installed x11 overlay.
Code:
cd /var/lib/layman/x11
git remote set-url origin http://git.overlays.gentoo.org/gitroot/proj/x11.git
git pull

after that it should work using layman -S
