After syncing Gnome overlay, noticed quite a few downgrades to 2.32
Then noticed on summary "Update package.unmask.gnome3 for new GNOME 3 mask in the tree."

it seems (for me at least...) the gnome-shell has a memory leak, i think this should be fixed before...

another user talked about it in another gnome3 thread here which i cant find right now...

It wont come to the tree until gnome3.2 is out (which is in september).
This looks more like sanitizing the ebuilds ready to be dropped into the tree sometime after 3.2 is released

You're probably right given the comment in one of developer's blog in March (?)
Gnome 3.2 is due to be release on the 28th September, nearly 2 months to go.
I'm not steeped in the the arts of Gentoo developers/maintainers, but couldn't they have introduced the package mask just before it's
introduction into the tree ?

Actually, according to the GNOME team, it should be coming to the tree either today (Monday August 1) or tomorrow.

ok, we'll just have to wait and see.
IMHO, having a Gnome3 package.mask now does seem a little superfluous, if it's the end of September at the earliest, before packages enter the tree.

Unfortunately, certain real-life issues intervened, and the process had to be delayed a bit. However, Gnome 3.0 should be coming to ~arch soon™. If I had to make a guess, it will happen within the next 2 weeks, but the timing is not up to me.

Hi yes, I also noticed the sudden mask. I haven't had any problems with it the last two months, so leaving it until Gnome 3.2 seems way too conservative to me at least. So look forward to see it in the tree soon.
