Hello

I have downloaded 64bit version of the Rawtherapee 3.0 for Gentoo. It won't run because it needs libtiff.so.3.

Code:
./rawtherapee: error while loading shared libraries: libtiff.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

libtiff.so.3 is located in /usr/lib32/libtiff.so.3 - linking to /usr/lib64/libtiff.so.3 gives new error:

Code:
./rawtherapee: error while loading shared libraries: libtiff.so.3: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32

What have I to do in order to use rawtherapee ?

Is your system 64 bit?
Mine is and media-libs/tiff installs libs in both /usr/lib32 and /usr/lib64.
I run multilib.

If your system is 32 bit only it won't install.
Gerard.

Helllo, my system is 64bit. I have just found that I indeed have libtiff in /usr/lib64/ but not .so.3 version.

Just tried to
Code:
link ln -s /usr/lib64/libtiffxx.so.5 /usr/lib64/libtiff.so.3

I will see if it works.

Thanks.

...And it works :-)

I did it. So how it looked just after fresh reinstall:

Code:
localhost michal # find / -name libtiff*
/usr/lib32/libtiff.so.3
/usr/lib32/libtiffxx.so.3
/usr/lib32/libtiffxx.so.3.9.4
/usr/lib32/libtiff.so
/usr/lib32/libtiff.so.3.9.4
/usr/lib32/libtiffxx.so
/usr/share/man/man3/libtiff.3tiff.bz2
/usr/share/doc/tiff-4.0.0_beta7/html/man/libtiff.3tiff.html
/usr/share/doc/tiff-4.0.0_beta7/html/libtiff.html
/usr/lib64/libtiffxx.so.5
/usr/lib64/libtiff.so.5.0.4
/usr/lib64/libtiff.so
/usr/lib64/libtiffxx.so.5.0.4
/usr/lib64/libtiff.so.5
/usr/lib64/pkgconfig/libtiff-4.pc
/usr/lib64/libtiffxx.so

Still there was no libtiff.so.3 in /usr/lib64/

Looks like you installed tiff-4.
I have tiff-3.9.4-r1.
You could force portage to install 3.9.4-r1 by using /etc/portage/package.mask.
Gerard.
