Hi there,

I wanted to give networkmanager 0.9 a try. Using knetworkmanager, there's 0.8.80 in portage. After unmasking the packages in question, I seem to be running into unsolvable dependencies:

Code:
# emerge -NavuD world
[...]
[ebuild     U #] net-misc/networkmanager-0.9.0 [0.8.4.0-r2] USE="dhclient gnutls introspection%* ppp resolvconf -avahi -bluetooth -connection-sharing -dhcpcd -doc -nss -wimax%" 0 kB
[ebuild     UD#] kde-misc/knetworkmanager-0.8.80 [4.4.0_p20110714] USE="consolekit (-aqua) -debug (-kdeenablefinal)" LINGUAS="..." 0 kB
[ebuild     U #] net-misc/networkmanager-openvpn-0.9.0 [0.8.2-r1] USE="-gnome -test%" 0 kB
[ebuild     U #] net-misc/networkmanager-vpnc-0.9.0 [0.8.2] USE="-gnome -test%" 0 kB
[ebuild     U #] net-misc/networkmanager-pptp-0.9.0 [0.8.2] USE="-gnome -test" 0 kB
[...]
net-misc/networkmanager:0

  (net-misc/networkmanager-0.8.4.0-r2::gentoo, installed) pulled in by
    <net-misc/networkmanager-0.9 required by (kde-base/solid-4.7.2::gentoo, installed)

  (net-misc/networkmanager-0.9.0::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge) pulled in by
    >=net-misc/networkmanager-0.9.0 required by (kde-misc/knetworkmanager-0.8.80::gentoo, ebuild scheduled for merge)
    (and 3 more with the same problem)

Is there some overlay I can/should use for this to work out or patches to apply? I'm already on ~amd64, but this isn't really a testing machine either to screw things over with royally...

If anybody has any ideas, please shoot! :)

The fix for this bug https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387235 should also solve this conflict. You just need to 'emerge --sync' I guess.

To compile NM-0.9.0 you also need to unmask it:

echo =net-misc/networkmanager-0.9.0 >> /etc/portage/package.unmask
echo =net-misc/networkmanager-openvpn-0.9.0 >> /etc/portage/package.unmask
echo =net-misc/networkmanager-vpnc-0.9.0 >> /etc/portage/package.unmask
echo =net-misc/networkmanager-pptp-0.9.0 >> /etc/portage/package.unmask

It's been renamed to kde-misc/networkmanagement by now.
