Looks like this is from an overlay. Which one?

Since this is from svn, is there an active dev page or community for this game? They might know something about it. If not, see if there is a non-svn version that might compile. You can also unpack and compile the source manually. If that succeeds, you'll know the problem is with the ebuild, not the source.

Overlay is AzP no idea on if there is a dev page, it's maintained on AzP by a group of indie game designers who list the website for their game. I will try to find the dev page, but don't know how.

Looks like this is the github
https://github.com/lodle/Desurium

Have posted the issue there, but not sure if they can help cuz the problem seems to be with the enuild.

fixed the wxWidgets problem,
you need to select a profile in order to compile using wxWidgets out of portage

Next I installed Apache and then restarted SVN's daemon

now getting these errors:
svn: Server sent unexpected return value (502 Bad Gateway) in response to PROPFIND request for '/svn/!svn/bln/927'

svn: warning: Error handling externals definition for 'wxWidgets/build/tools':
svn: warning: URL 'http://svn.wxwidgets.org/svn/wx/wxWidgets/tools/build' at revision 70747 doesn't exist

but still getting the same basic error:

>>> Source configured.
>>> Compiling source in /var/tmp/portage/games-util/desurium-0.999/work/desurium ...
/var/tmp/portage/games-util/desurium-0.999/temp/environment: line 2459: ./BuildAll.sh: No such file or directory
/var/tmp/portage/games-util/desurium-0.999/temp/environment: line 2460: cd: ../../build_lin: No such file or directory
/var/tmp/portage/games-util/desurium-0.999/temp/environment: line 2461: ./build.sh: No such file or directory
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
Checked out revision 70747.

problem appears to be that the ebuild can't find the BuildAll.sh found in src/third_party and the Build.sh script found in lin_build

ran BuildAll.sh and everything compiled fine, but build.sh in build_lin had an error.

this is the gyp error:

Traceback (most recent call last):

/root/Downloads/Desurium/build_lin/logs/linux_compile.log lines 1-13/13 (END)

ok the last on resolved by going into /src/third_party and editing libs.gyp and changing settings to none. I had to do this for ALL of the libraries it requires.

Hi! I'm AzP, and I'm very surprised anybody is using my overlay =)

I created the ebuild for Desurium since it's an awesome project and there weren't any other ebuilds on it. But it's in a very early stage, I just created it from an earlier ebuild I'd written for my own project (since that was SVN based as well), added the dependencies listed on Desurium's github page, and tried it once. It got stuck somewhere in the build of the boost libraries I think, but I didn't have the time to debug it at that time.

If you've managed to get further than that, it would be great to get patches!

Here's an ebuild request I've put up on bugzilla, I haven't uploaded any ebuilds there since I created the overlay instead. https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395837

The link to subspacebattle.sf.net is actually a mistake, that's the original project I based my ebuild on, hehe. Should probably take care of that :)

Hey,

I just compiled it a moment ago, but I'm having some type of curl problems with libcares.
I do not know how to do an ebuild, but would be more than happy to look into updating the one on you made.

Thanks,
Andrew

I welcome any help I can get =)

Here's a guide to writing Ebuilds. And here's another one. Of course you don't have to know it all to write an ebuild, but it's good to have some place to find information when you need it.
If you start out with the one from the overlay, and have some coding experience, I think you can find your way around it after a while. Just try and see what happens =)

I haven't seen the issue with libcares.. For me it just stopped somewhere, and never finished. But there was no readable output from it, just like "building boost", perhaps it was trying to get something via curl and waiting for a download. I'm not sure.

I have it working now, but only in root. Anyway, will take a look at the links at when I get a chance. Would love to contribute to gentoo even if in distraction.

Additional notes
Required dev-libs/libIDL
gnome-base/orbit

in addition to editings the types before running build.sh
also remember to install-deps.sh
