Hi! Yesterday I've updated my system and now i've got a problem. After reboot i get message: starting udev daemon ... Start-stop-daemon /sbin/udevd does not exist.

I tried to emerge it again but it didnt solved the problem. After update ive done of course etc-update and didnt noticed anything strange. Revdep-rebuild shows everything ok.

I would be very thankfull for any help !

Just now I've updated my udev to the 177 version. My USE flags:
Code:

acl -action_modeswitch -build -debug -edd extras -floppy gudev hwdb -introspection keymap rule_generator (-selinux) (-test)

It works successfully in my Gentoo.

Portage has never had 177 as we went from 171 to 180, skipping everything in between. Where is this from, perhaps Sabayon or Funtoo?

And at least >=sys-apps/openrc-0.9.9.3 is required because udevd moved from /sbin to /lib/udev.

Symlinking /lib/udev/udevd to /sbin/udevd is also doable but should be redudant as after upgrading the software complaining about /sbin the problems go away.

Moved from Portage & Programming to Unsupported Software as it's not a Gentoo issue.
