After recent updates, on 3 separate gentoo systems, both 32 and 64 bit, I have had sudo not recognise 'SUDO_ASKPASS', when the program in question does exist and does run, manually.

Thus, when I do a
Code:
sudo -A xterm
, sudo whinges
Code:
sudo: no askpass program specified, try setting SUDO_ASKPASS
whilst
Code:
$ echo $SUDO_ASKPASS
/usr/bin/ssh-askpass-fullscreen
is in the environment and the program does run if I do
Code:
$ $SUDO_ASKPASS

I have run revdep-rebuild -i to no effect.
I have re-emerged both sudo and ssh-askpass-fullscreen, also to no effect.
Any suggestions?

Solved, had to create /etc/sudo.conf
Code:
# Path to askpass helper program
Path askpass /usr/bin/ssh-askpass-fullscreen
whereas I did not before.
