Is anyone here using cronic to process output from their crontabs? I'm wondering if it's necessary in real-world scenarios.

Do you mean this one? http://habilis.net/cronic/

Nice snippet of bash code, but unnecessary to give it a name and write an essay about it.

Do you use it? Maybe you haven't run into a scenario where it's necessary?

No, I personally wouldn't need it. For me, it's ok to receive raw output if a cronjob goes mad. And, if I need to apply output redirection, I don't do so in the crontab, but in the script itself.

Besides, the subtitle "A cure for Cron's chronic email problem" sounds a bit big-mouthed to me. Especially as the reason is not cron, but badly written shell scripts.
