Hi all,

I just installed a clean Gentoo Hardened 3.5.4 Hardened no-multilib, with almost everithing working.
My ssh service is not working.

I followed all the handbook steps with no problem (I've installed gentoo a lot of times up to now, but I never installed a hardened sources)

I configured the ssh as http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/security/security-handbook.xml?style=printable&full=1#book_part1_chap10

Finally, I get a "Connection timed out" in my ssh client command, and no log activity in my server.

I don't have neither proxy, nor firewall in front of my server.

Hopefully, ssh works fine locally (ssh -l <user> localhost) in my server.

Something is wrong when the ssh request is made from another machine.

The last thing that I could check is that the tcp request is received in the 22 port of my server (tcpdump)...

Any ideas?
Suggestions?

What ListenAddress did you put into you /etc/ssh/sshd_config?

I have exactly the same sshd_config as proposed in http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/security/security-handbook.xml?style=printable&full=1#book_part1_chap10
Anyway, I tried with a lot of changes, like ListenAddress 127.0.0.1, ListenAddress 0.0.0.0 and ListenAddress <eth0_ip>

Thank you very much.
Please let me know any other idea, I am really stuck with this.
