This is this first time I've ever received this error, I also noticed device.map is not located in /boot/grub2/ so I'm a bit confused here..
It's basically saying "cannot find grub device in /dev/sda4 check device.map"
since there's no device.map I'm worried grub2 is broken and I wanted to use btrfs for fun, the initial gentoo install is fine as I have lilo working but would rather use grub2.
Here's the the full printout of the error.
Quote: | Generating grub.cfg ...
/usr/sbin/grub2-probe: error: cannot find a GRUB drive for /dev/sda4
/dev/sdb. Check your device.map.
Found linux image: /boot/kernel-3.7.1-gentoo
Found initrd image: /boot/initramfs-genkernel-x86_64-3.7.1-gentoo
/usr/sbin/grub2-probe: error: cannot find a GRUB drive for /dev/sda4
/dev/sdb. Check your device.map.

Am I worrying for nothing? the grub.cfg file seems to be in order, is it just because I'm using btrfs? |

Hmm okay, may have been an error on my part where /boot wasn't mounted.
I'll post back when I retry again tonight. |
