|Was looking around the Gentoo Docs section today when I stumbled upon a link to a Gentoo news feed .rdf that can be used in programs such as evolution. Here's how to get the Gentoo news from the front page to display in Evolution:
Open up Evolution
In the top menu, select Tools, then Settings...
Under Summary Preferences, select News Feeds.
Click the "New Feed" button, and enter Gentoo Linux for the name, and for the URL, enter this:
and then click "Ok".
Gentoo Linux will now be in your list of available news feeds, and you can select it and press the "Add" button. Press "Apply" and it should show up in the Summary page inside of Evolution.
That's it! Hope this helps someone out! Also, there is an "en" in them middle of that link above, and I think you could just as easily put other language specifiers in there, though I have not tested this.
This method was tested on Ximian Evolution 1.4.4.
