|For those who are tired of the plain looking icon that appears on the "show desktop" button in gnome 2.2 and later there is an easy way to change it to anything you want. The code for the button always looks for a file named
which in Gentoo's case is in the /usr/share/pixmaps directory, that is a transparent background 48x48 pixels image. So all you have to do is replace that image with one of your choice, and restart gnome-panel.
Of all the things I lost, I miss my mind the most.
