Hello everyone,
Please, maybe someone has an idea how to install gentoo on Dell m6700?
Thing is I can not connect to my wifi. So can not do installation. Iwconfig and ifconfig does not show wlan0.
I understand that i could do that by simply using Ethernet, but i can't. We have public free wifi, so i can not use lan.
Maybe some one has experienced similar problems?
Network adapter is centrino ultimate 6300.
Thanks for help. |

Tomosius,
Use SystemRescueCD as your boot ISO. Its gentoo based and supports lots of WiFi. _________________ Regards,

i use alternate install media, xubuntu... you can use any live linux to build up gentoo in the background on the hard drive.... sysrescuecd would be the optimal sollution as you can get gentoo support on it here... also
does systemrescuecd support flash so i can youtube while waiting a week for gentoo to compile?
(xubuntu was chosen in my situation because it has networkmanager with wifi support, pidgin, xchat, firefox, & flash can be apt-getted into it for youtube, etc...) |
