There are several errors that show up while booting that I am unable to read as they disappear too fast.

I cannot find them in dmesg nor /var/log/messages or any other log. How can I either log ALL the boot messages to some file, or prevent login from clearing the screen? The messages I want to see are printed just before the screen is cleared -- I can still scroll up, but I will not see the part of the screen that was cleared.

You want to use the interactive boot. Set allow interactive boot in /etc/rc.conf and press I during boot up. You can then step through the messages as they appear.

Apologies if I take a while to respond. I'm currently working on the dematerialization circuit for my blue box.

/etc/inittab
Code:

# TERMINALS
c1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty --noclear 38400 tty1 linux
c2:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty --noclear 38400 tty2 linux

init errors or kernel boot errors?

kernel boot errors can be viewed by dmesg, init messages can be viewed by suitable init system logging
