Hello all,

I am new to the world of Gentoo and am having an issue when running "emerge gentoo-sources".

It first tries to compile bc, but it reports that the C compiler cannot create executables as such:

Code:
(chroot) Enterprise src # emerge gentoo-sources
 * IMPORTANT: 4 news items need reading for repository 'gentoo'.

Calculating dependencies... done!

From these two discussions, it would appear that there is an issue with my cflags, and I have tried to gather from them, what I can, but I am lost, and have no idea what is wrong with them, and what to look for.

Here is the "cflags" line as it appears in /etc/portage/make.conf

Code:

CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -march=native -msse -msee2 -mmmx"

I'm probably missing something simple, and I thank you for any help you can give a beginner to the world of Gentoo.

Your CFLAGS indicate -msee2. Are you certain you don't mean -msse2? (For what it's worth, I don't include either option in my CFLAGS.)
