Because of a X-server rebuild I'm trying to rebuild my X drivers. All go OK except ivtv.
I'v been comparing the old and the new log and see the following difference at the start of the build.
Old log
    Making all in src
    make[2]: Entering directory `/tmpfiles/vartmp/portage/x11-drivers/xf86-video-ivtv-1.1.2/work/xf86-video-ivtv-1.1.2_build/src'
    /bin/sh ../libtool --tag=CC --mode=compile i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I/tmpfiles/vartmp/portage/x11-drivers/xf86-video-ivtv-1.1.2/work/xf86-video-ivtv-1.1.2/src -I.. -fvisibility=hidden -I/usr/include/xorg -I/usr/include/pixman-1 -march=athlon -mtune=generic -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -c -o ivtv.lo /tmpfiles/vartmp/portage/x11-drivers/xf86-video-ivtv-1.1.2/work/xf86-video-ivtv-1.1.2/src/ivtv.c

New log
    Making all in src
    make[2]: Entering directory `/tmpfiles/vartmp/portage/x11-drivers/xf86-video-ivtv-1.1.2/work/xf86-video-ivtv-1.1.2_build/src'
    /bin/sh ../libtool --tag=CC --mode=compile i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I/tmpfiles/vartmp/portage/x11-drivers/xf86-video-ivtv-1.1.2/work/xf86-video-ivtv-1.1.2/src -I.. -fvisibility=hidden -I/usr/include/xorg -I/usr/include/pixman-1 -I/usr/include/X11/dri -I/usr/include/libdrm -march=athlon -mtune=generic -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -c -o ivtv.lo /tmpfiles/vartmp/portage/x11-drivers/xf86-video-ivtv-1.1.2/work/xf86-video-ivtv-1.1.2/src/ivtv.c

To me it seems it now wants to include dri and libdrm. How do I disable that?
For completion her the full log of the failing merge

OK, I got a bit wiser. I now now why my xserver got rebuild. I originally also tried to emerge the nvidia driver next to the nouvau, just to try them both.
Since it's a very old nvidia card (Gforce2) I needed nvidia version 96.43.21 and that forces the X server down to 1.12.4-r1.
Since the nvidia driver wouldn't merge I removed nvidia from make.conf and running newuse the Xserver got upgraded to 1.13.4
I'm now downgrading the X server to see if the ivtv driver will merge. If so ivtv also should force a serverversion 1.12.4-r4.
I'll tell if I know more.

It merges now, so I'll file a bug, if not already there.
