I've got a strange problem with mounting a DVD burnt using K3B (as a data project). When I try to mount it using:

Code:
mount /dev/sr0 /mnt/cdrom

then

Code:
dmesg | tail

shows

Code:
[14235.223708] EXT4-fs (sr0): unable to read superblock
[14235.230632] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0]
[14235.230640] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE
[14235.230642] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0]
[14235.230644] Sense Key : Illegal Request [current]
[14235.230649] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0]
[14235.230654] Add. Sense: Illegal mode for this track
[14235.230656] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] CDB:
[14235.230657] Read(10): 28 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00
[14235.230684] FAT-fs (sr0): unable to read boot sector

When I tried to specify the filesystem:

Code:
mount -t iso9660 /dev/sr0 /mnt/cdrom

There is another message:

Code:
[14284.409971] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_SENSE
[14284.409973] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0]
[14284.409974] Sense Key : Illegal Request [current]
[14284.409977] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0]
[14284.409979] Add. Sense: Illegal mode for this track
[14284.409981] sr 1:0:0:0: [sr0] CDB:
[14284.409982] Read(10): 28 00 00 00 00 10 00 00 01 00
[14284.409988] blk_update_request: 56 callbacks suppressed
[14284.409990] end_request: I/O error, dev sr0, sector 64
[14284.410004] isofs_fill_super: bread failed, dev=sr0, iso_blknum=16, block=16

What can be wrong? Burnt dvd seems to work correctly on another notebook (with Ubuntu on board).

Hmm.

I usually use UDF for Data discs. Maybe you miss some deeper kernel options in the file system section, e.g. UDF or something like that.

Pay close attention what and how k3b burns your disc, e.g. disc format like udf, ..., and than please check your kernel or userspace if you have all requirements.

I havent used K3b recently but k3b used to show you the command line which was invoked to burn the disc and show you all the options before burning the disc too.
