Hi,

I am running toshiba ac100. xorg starts and the keyboardworks perfectly, but I cannot move the mouse-pointer.

/dev/input/by-id USB generic-camery -> ../event4

/dev/input/by-path nvec-kbd ../event0
/dev/input/by-path sound ../event1
/dev/input/by-path gpio-keys ../event2

/dev/input/event3 is the mouse pointer .. echo event3 brings a lot of rubbish on the screen

Are there missing rules for udev for the touchpad? I reemerge udev, but to no avail - interestingly, the right mouse click on the touchpad works, but nothing else.
(the touchpad is in order: I tried formerly with ubuntu and the rubbish comes with echo event3)

Any hints?

Cheers, Mario

It is hard to say what could be your problem. Do you have x11-drivers/xf86-input-synaptics installed? Try to follow https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Synaptics

If that does not help, then please provide your /var/log/Xorg.0.log

You are right: emerge xf86-input-synaptics solved the problem!

Didn't know that there is a special driver for the touchpad needed.

Thanks v_andal
