I installed www-plugins/google-talkplugin-5.1.5.0 for Google Hangouts on my lenovo laptop which has an integrated intel video card and an ATI radeon HD5650, but still cannot do the video chat.
It looks like this:

And the light on the webcam wasn't on, which maybe meaned the plugin didn't use it.
I've checked my kernel config, and I think I've turn on everything related to the webcam (mainly in Device Drivers/Multimedia support).

Unfortunately, that link appears to be broken. Have you tried the webcam in any other applications such as Skype or Cheese?

I tried Skype, and found out that there were 3 video devices. /dev/video0 is "vivi", which would show what I posted; /dev/video1 is "m2m-testdev", which is almost the same as vivi; and /dev/video2 is "Lenovo EasyCamera", which is what I want.
It seems that if talkplugin could use /dev/video2 then everything will be fine. But how can I do that?
