Hi All

I have installed gentoo in laptop, the machine is failed to boot with the below error. Could someone help

[FAILED] Failed to set up automount Arbitrary Executable File Formats ... See 'systemctl status proc-sys-fs-binfmt_misc.automount' for details.

------------
The output of systemctl --full -all says

proc-sys-fs-binfmt_misc.automount failed

Thanks in advance

enter the chroot, run
Code:
emerge --info | grep -i systemd
verify that you are using a systemd profile with a global systemd USE flag.
Code:
emerge -s systemd
verify systemd is installed.
Code:
emerge -uND world
makes sure all that should be able to use systemd is compiled with systemd support.
Code:
ls /usr/lib64/systemd/system/proc-sys-fs-binfmt_misc.automount
ls /usr/lib64/systemd/system/sysinit.target.wants/proc-sys-fs-binfmt_misc.automount
both should be present.
Code:
grep -i systemd /usr/src/linux/.config
Should yield
Quote:
CONFIG_GENTOO_LINUX_INIT_SYSTEMD=y
Code:
 grep -i systemd /boot/grub/grub.cfg
should yield (/boot/grub/grub.cfg may need to be replaced by another boot menu depending on the bootloader used)
Quote:
init=/usr/lib/systemd/systemd

running
Code:
journalctl | grep -i -a2 .automount
may be interesting
