Hi @all,
I´m not new in the GNU/Linux-World, I'm coming from Ubuntu -> Debian -> Arch and now I thought I'll try Gentoo...
So far I managed to set up a working desktop-environment, but I'm having troubles to get lm_sensors detect my fan-speed.
CPU-Temp Works.

I think I don't have to right kernel-modules installed, maybe some of you guys know what to enable on a Thinkpad T420s?
Or even better, can explain me how I can find it out by myself :wink:

It's the thinkpad_acpi module.

Code:
tfoerste@n22 ~ $ zgrep THINK /proc/config.gz
CONFIG_THINKPAD_ACPI=m
CONFIG_THINKPAD_ACPI_ALSA_SUPPORT=y
FWIW here's my proc/config.gz for a 2-year old T420 : http://bpaste.net/show/381334/

thanks very much "thinkpad_acpi" was what I'm looking for, and is your kernel-config for a thinkpad t420 with only Intel HD3000?

Point of curiosity... When did it become safe to use lm_sensors on ThinkPads? Last I knew it was a well-known path to bricking, and I'd never heard when that changed.
