So, I was compiling my genkernel with a new config. And after i was done, it gave me this error:
Code:
# genkernel --menuconfig all
* >> Compiling 3.12.21-gentoo-r1 bzImgae...
* >> Not installing firmware as it's included in the kernel already (CONFIG_FIRMWARE_IN_KERNEL=y)...
* >> Compiling 3.12.21-gentoo-r1 modules...
* Copying config for successful build to /etc/kernels/kernel-config-x86_64-3.12.21-gentoo-r1
* busybox: >> using cache
* initramfs: >> initializing
* >> Appending base_layout cpio data...
* >> Appending auxilary cpio data...
* >> Copying keymaps
* >> Appending busybox cpio data...
* >> Appending modules cpio data...
* >> Appending blkid cpio data...
* >> Appending modprobed cpio data...
* >> Appending linker cpio data...
* >> Finalizing cpio...
* >> Compressing cpio data (.xz)...
*
* Kernel compiled successfully!
*
* Required Kernel Parameters:
* root=/dev/$ROOT
*
* Where $ROOT is the device node fo your root partition as the one specified in /etc/fstab
*
* If you require Genkernel's hardware detection features; you MUST tell your bootloader to use the provided INITRAMFS file.

* WARNING... WARNING... WARNING...
* Additional kernel cmdline arguments that *may* be required to boot properly...

* Do NOT report kernel bugs as genkernel bugs unless your bug is about the default genkernel configuration...
*
* Make sure you have the latest ~arch genkernel before reporting bugs.

After that, my system became very slow on boot up and stuff. :/
I want to know what I did wrong and how I can fix it so I don't do it next time.
I also want to know what the busybox/cpio thing is, if i need it and if I don't, how do I remove it?

Genkernel built the kernel correctly. There is no error message in the output.

Busybox is used to provide a shell when an error occurs during booting and the bootstrap cannot continue.

Cpio is used to build the initramfs file that a kernel built with genkernel normally needs.

If PRINTK_TIME is enabled in the kernel it will timestamp the messages from the kernel so you can see where the slowdowns are.

Do you have any devices that need firmware that is not being provided in the kernel or initramfs?

The kernel will usually print a message after the timeout elapses. If you do not feel comfortable trying to answer this, then your best bet is to enable PRINTK_TIME, then post the output of dmesg here after the system is usable.
