I just got a new machine and have gotten everything working the way I want it to. I have bluetooth all set up with BlueZ 5 and its working great. Only problem is it doesn't remember devices. I had this problem with my old machine and I had set the test-programs use flag and paired it with bluez-test-input. This functionality no longer exists in BlueZ 5. The funny thing is on my old machine i had even upgraded to bluez 5 from 4 and it carried the settings over and continued to remember the pairing. Any thoughts on how I can get theis to remember the pairing?

Thanks!
-Andy

Does Gentoo Bug No. 516600 describe what you are experiencing, or is it different?

I think its different. I don't even know how to set up a bluetooth device as trusted in KDE. Is there a specific way I have to do this? I add the device and make sure the trusted device box is checked. Am i missing something?

No, you're not missing anything. That's how I do it too:

1. Click on the Bluetooth icon in the KDE System Tray.
2. Select 'Configure Bluetooth'.
3. Select the device in the main pane, then click 'Details'.
4. Tick 'Trusted' then click 'OK' > 'OK'.

What device(s) does KDE (or is it BlueZ?) forget? I have a Samsung Galaxy Note II and that is not forgotten. I'm using KDE 4.13.3 in Gentoo (~amd64, 3.13.7-gentoo kernel, OpenRC) but I know that a user of KDE 4.13.3 in Sabayon Linux (Gentoo-based, systemd) is finding that KDE (or is it BlueZ?) forgets his Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (https://forum.sabayon.org/viewtopic.php?p=171830#p171830).
